Recently I contacted a gay blogger who was struggling to make peace with his wanting to follow God. He was in such turmoil because he just couldn't make peace with being gay and what he felt was him not being in the place God wanted him to be in because of his homosexuality He contacted me back and what he said made me realize that I can't MAKE him, or anyone, believe God loves you if you're gay no matter how many arguments I refute or how well I explain the Bible verses. If you've set in your mind your homosexuality is a stumbling block between you and God, that's where your heart will be also.
I believe some people are just so branded by their beliefs, so entrenched in what they were taught, they will never change and are a forever lost cause. Fighting a paper dragon cut out by the Church they named "Homosexuality" and not a real flesh and blood one from the Word of God that doesn't exist and never had.

We persecute and restrict ourselves to avoid persecution and restriction from outside. He is convinced that he will be rejected, and thinks such rejection more painful than self-rejection: we all need community, for physical and emotional needs.
Amen. Every time I see these kind of struggles, the biggest hinderance are anti-gay "Christians" who are so encouraging and loving in their responses to these individuals because they want to prove their point gays want to change and should. They do the work of the enemy, but of course they will never see that way and they will never question why they are so encouraging when this struggle is something they know nothing about. They are in their own darkness with spite because if I were to personally engage these individuals, their true colors would come out, I see it again and again. Only the Holy Spirit can bring a person to knowledge. All I can do is pray for these wounded souls who go to the very people who hurt them with how they believe.
